What is “JebbyMovies”?

We are a website for independent non commercial movie reviews since March 2008. We don’t review the latest stuff that comes to the theatres but older and more unknown and uncommon movies you hopefully haven’t heard about for the most part. We like to tell you something new, introduce established but unfamous actors to you and widthen your horizon of entertainment!

We moved to this adress in July/August 2009 so not all of our hunderds of reviews are moved yet. You can read about the current states above!

Who are you guys?

First of all we are people who like to watch movies. For details see “Editors” above. Currently we are two editors like when we started up but we are always open to editors who’d like to join in. Just send an introduction why you’d like to participate in this project and a review you wrote to jebbymovies@live.de

Where does the name come from?

Well that’s a really stupid story but we will tell you anyway. We started the site up discovering we both liked Jeff Goldlbum’s movies. Somehow we used to call him “Jebb” and made up the word “jebby” for entertaining & classy. A “jebby” movie for that reason would be a classy, entertaining, well shot and good movie. There aren’t many of those out there, I tell you.

What is all that stuff at the sidebar?

First of all we got “JM News”. There’s a note on there that always keeps you updated on the site and our own activities. If there was a change or an add of a feature you read it there. “Categories” lets you browse all our stuff after topics. Click through to discover the sections. Every article is linked to one category. The “Post Calendar” shows you all the posts we wrote on a time schedule going back till the very first post. Click a date to see the posted articles. The “Archives” are basically the same thing just a plain drop-out menu. Linkpartners are site that link back to us, too. If you’d like to be advertised in this list, too just let us know and place our link somewhere at your front page. “Links” are stuff we also recommend to see. “Add us!” to various communities. Click the pictures to look up the different profiles.

How can I participate in the site?

You can post your comments to every single review and let us know what you think about the movie or the critique itself. You can rate thew reviews and even the commentaries. For questions and suggestions drop us a mail at jebbymovies@live.de (or use the “contact” form) or sign up to be an editor on your own.
