Sikandar
Sikandar (Parzan Dastur) is just a young boy. His parents were killed years ago but he lives with a caring family who just wants to see him succeeding in school and get a good life. The only thing that stands in his way is the mobbing at the school yards, the pressure of a few idiots liek every teenager meets them once in a while. Unfortunately Sikandar lives right in the middle of the Kashmeer conflict and violence comes closer in reach when he finds a gun somewhere in the forest.
Ready? Ok!
Joshua (Lurie Poston) wants nothing more in the world than to become a cheerleader. The only problem is: Nobody else allows him to be one. The Christian school he goes to, forbids boys to join the team and although he really fits in and is best friends with all the girls, his mother (Carrie Preston) does not allow it either. She wants him to keep on wrestling when all the wants to work out is dancing skills.
The only ones who understand his passion are his grandma and his gay neighbour Charlie (Michael Emerson) and they support him as best as they can. But Single Ma Andy has her own problems when suddenly her brother Alex (John G. Preston) shows up again to move in because he can’t pay his rent and find a job.
All the boys love Mandy Lane
All the boys love Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) but her best friend Emmet (Michael Welch) just loves her most. But some of her new buddies invite Mandy on a vacation to a lonely house somewhere outside in the wild so she takes her chance to meet those new people. She soon finds out, she doesn’t really fit in with them but it could be a nice timeout anyway – if there wasn’t a serial killer running around in the fields at night, catching them one by one.
Hydra
As we all know I am a big fan of Monster B-Movies. Really professional movies are usually well animated but B-movies are much more entertaining without all the Hollywood-slime – that usually doesn’t have anything to do with the plot. “Hydra” was just released in the beginning of 2009, actually a TV production.
Four people suddenly find themselves trapped and locked up on a boat. And the boat seems to search for an island that not just moves – but also inhabits a deadly creature, the ancient greek snake Hydra. In the beginning also a scientist was trapped when her boat sunk down in the ocean and her colleagues got eaten. Nobody has the slightest idea why they are going to the mysterious island till they finally arrive. It seems as if this island isn’t more than a giant playground for a rich guy after all who wants revenge for various crimes commited by the held captured ones.
