“Simon Says” is definitely one of my alltime favorite movies and this role of his as the psycho twins is one of the most creepy roles ever. The plot is simple as any teen movie could be. A group of teenagers goes to the woods for camping and they meet a strange guy at the truckstop. Turns out this guy is one of two psycho twins who spent their whole life butchering stuff. Also themselves but I didn’t really get this dramatic point at the story, doesn’t matter how often I watched it.

So to me all that guy is, are the twins. No matter what he will play – like ever – he will always bethe creepy psycho twin.

When he just wants to look at a washing machine at the city he points this gun at the wrong men, the Jihad fighters have found him and his weapon and he loves an opportuinity to show off to anyone, that he eventually can do something right, may it be shooting a gun or killing a politician.

“Sikandar” was released in 2009 and is a Bollywood production by Piyush Jha and Sudhir Mishra that stays a good movie till the last minute although it works without clichees. it shows a reality between civil war, terrorist attacks and a boy who should not get into this at all. Even the beginning of the movie is a shockingly violent startup. A few kids are running down the streets of the city, coming home from school. They find a ball laying around, they kick it and – nothing. The market goes up in bomb smoke.

If one should make movies about civil wars and conflicts then it should be the countries itself, it just works best for everyone who does not only like action but also backgrounds. Would it have been a Hollywood production, Sikandar would have met an action hero who shoots him through every enemy line but it isn’t one and for that it is very watchable!

The only ones who understand his passion are his grandma and his gay neighbour Charlie (Michael Emerson) and they support him as best as they can. But Single Ma Andy has her own problems when suddenly her brother Alex (John G. Preston) shows up again to move in because he can’t pay his rent and find a job.

“Ready? Ok!” is a lovely movie around how all the problems of raising your child alone can come together to one critical mass. It is however not a kids movie, probably at least a family movie, humorous, nice and just a bit different.

“All the boys love Mandy Lane” is a typical teeny horror movie without so much of a plot but a bit more of a story than usual. I actually like the way the movie is shot although it is very clear that the supposed murderer isn’t the real one and so on.

Well, if you wanna make a nice movie evening with some horror and popcorn don’t hesitate to put this movie on the screen, it’s quite entertaining and not as bad played as most teeny horror stuff.

Four people suddenly find themselves trapped and locked up on a boat. And the boat seems to search for an island that not just moves – but also inhabits a deadly creature, the ancient greek snake Hydra. In the beginning also a scientist was trapped when her boat sunk down in the ocean and her colleagues got eaten. Nobody has the slightest idea why they are going to the mysterious island till they finally arrive. It seems as if this island isn’t more than a giant playground for a rich guy after all who wants revenge for various crimes commited by the held captured ones.

It looks like a B-movie but it somehow has the feeling of an A-movie from time to time. You gotta understand that the “B” doesn’t stand for “bad” but for much lower budget than big productions. I like this one, even though the animations still suck but the acting is alright and the movie is just entertaining. Recommended to watch!

It turns out that Lucinda, the girl who wrote the numbers, supposingly wrote down all the dates and locations of catastrophes yet to come and the amount of deaths on each. But the last entry on the notes is more than that, it is the end of all life on the planet – and nothing can keep that event from coming.

It seems a bit cynic that Hollywood produces one end time scenary movie a year and most of them got some kind of Happy ending. Now this one basically doesn’t, there is no escape for the majority of humanity. That’s one fact that makes it more likeable than the rest of these movies, I would even call it an own genre. But not to give you the wrong impressions, I seriously liked this movie. It wasn’t so much about clichees plus it had the most creative spaceship in it, I’ve ever seen. Okay apart from Douglas Adams’.

“Knowing” is action, sci-fi, a bit horror within, well animated, nice cast, everything as good as it can be. The movie gets an A and is thereby recommended to watch!

“The Hangover” to me looks like a … well not much more grown up, less funny version of “Dude, where’s my car?”. But while this movie never pretended to be grown up humor and never even tried to cast famous Hollywood staff. Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and others are probably not the high class acting kicker of Hollywood but they are just not funny either. Actually the movie was more awkward than entertaining, also due to the appearance of Mike Tyson.

I just couldn’t get rid of the feeling the whole movie long, that something went terribly wrong in shooting a probably funny script, here. If anyone found it really, really funny he shall comment now or for ever be silent. Thing is, it’s not the only supposed to be funny movie that went wrong in the last year, just remember “Role Models”. Nah, please. Make comedy or let it be but stop making this kind of movies.

So who is this guy, you probably never noticed before he appeared at the series?

Michael Emerson was born in 1954 in Iowa and worked in graphical jobs till he moved to Florida in the 80s. He then started his work as a director and producer at theaters. In 1997, as mentioned, he became famous as Oscar Wilde in this play at the Minetta Lane. He played in a few not so well known movies such as “Playing by heart” and “The Unfaithful” till he finally got a guest starring at the X-Files. In 2004 he starred in “Saw” and finally joined “Lost” in 2006. I also saw him in “Jumping off bridges”, nice movie by the way, totally watchable.

Michael Emerson is just a talented actor and you can see in his acting that he’s right off the theatre and not casted for some TV show. Nothing against TV casts but as I come from the theatre myself, I just got a thing for stage actors.

Michael Emerson has a huge and loyal fancrowd, due to his roles in Saw and Lost mostly and he stayed down to earth in his whole, yet evolving, career. Very recommended actor, go watch his movies and try to make it to one of his plays!

Tomer Eshed created this little clip around two water sheds getting in a fight and won first place in the jury category at the Aniboom Awards 2008 with it. And he deserves it, we love it!

The movie is just boring. There is the climatic topic of “The day after tomorrow” missing that let you stunned. There is the action from “War of the worlds” missing and after all it seems like a movie you’ve already seen somewhen. Not my cup of tea!

Ok now, this movie is obviously supposed to be some kind of comedy. I guess. Problem is, I didn’t really find it funny. Maybe that’s just me, however it might not even be a movie you wanna watch with some popcorn and friends. But they certainly had only the best intentions with it …

Hm, I started up watching it “back in the days” as a huge fan. I mean, great characters, nice storyboard, you can overlook the strangely bad animations of the creatures themselves. You can do that one season, you can do it two seasons but then the third seasons starts up with a supercroc walking on two legs. To fit into ancient egyptian mythology.

Yes, I like supercrocs, I also like egyptian mythology. What I not so much like is when screenwriters can’t come up with new ideas anymore and therefore set the whole storyline into a mystery context. First episode, okay Sina, give them a chance.

The second episode came up with … this … and what the hell that is describes the website of ITV: “The Camouflage Beast is a visitor from the future. It appears to be a form of primate and shares many characteristics with the Madagascan aye aye: a creature so strange looking that native mythology believes it to be a symbol of death.” Is that so? Aha …

No, ITV, you can not make that up with big carnivore dinosaurs in episode four and it even overshades my love for the characters a bit. Please. Stop. This. The story became a mess. Don’t stop the series, get it back on a straight path! Pleeeeeaaaaase!
